Councillor Bill Turner

Bill Turner

Cllr Bill Turner

Bill currently sits on Redruth Town Council, where he is serving his third term of office.

Bill feels very strongly about the lack of decent social housing in Cornwall and he is disgusted by the way that young people have been priced out of the housing market by the expansion of second homes in the county.

Bill has campaigned against the proposed waste transfer site at Scorrier.  He believes that if the Scorrier proposals were to go ahead, they would have a detrimental impact on the people of Redruth.  Currently, Bill strongly supports the Cornish Affordable Housing Petition which can be viewed and signed here

Bill is married with two children and one grandchild.  When he is not working for the people of Redruth, he enjoys Wood Turning, especially turning mainly lace bobbins, pens and dolls house miniatures.
