Kym Willoughby has been elected to represent the Carn Brea South ward on Cornwall Council.

Kym is a local campaigner who was born and brought up in Pool.   She has two children, the eldest of whom goes to Pencoys School in Four Lanes.

She speaks for the Lib Dems on Adult Social Care in Cornwall and sits on the committee for the Heartlands Project in Pool  – a landmark scheme to transform the fortunes of the area.

As a mum of two, Kym is passionate about the need for improved services for children, not only in the Pool and Redruth area, but across Cornwall. She firmly believes that more needs to be done to provide educational and enrichment opportunities for local children.

Kym has a degree in Psychology from Plymouth University, which she completed whilst having her second child.

Kym believes that more needs to be done to keep Cornish talent in Cornwall and that people should be encouraged to remain in the county to pursue their careers.
